Zee Mundo arrives in South America

India’s Zee Entertainment Enterprises has launched its Spanish-language Bollywood movie channel in South America.

Zee Mundo is now carried in Ecuador by cable operator TV Cable, featuring Bollywood action, romance, suspense, drama and comedy films that have been dubbed into Spanish.

“Our Latino audiences across the US have shown a huge appreciation for the channel and the content is already very popular on social media in Ecuador,” said Rolando Figueroa, head of marketing communications and digital for Zee Mundo.

Zee Mundo will be available in Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca, Loja, Ambato, Portoviejo, Manta, Ibarra, Tulcán, Salinas and Riobamba y Machala in Ecuador.

The move comes after Zee launched the HD network, which it claims is the first ever Spanish-language Bollywood movie channel, in the US last year.
