The merger between Viggle, the social TV start-up created by American Idol entrepreneur Robert FX Sillerman, and rival GetGlue has not yet been completed.

The deal, announced in November, was contingent on Viggle securing US$60m of additional financing.

This money is yet to arrive and so Viggle is currently in the process of “discussing an extension” with GetGlue for the deadline of the merger, which was set for December 19 last year, according to a statement issued by Viggle to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

When the merger is completed, the combined companies will have a total of 4.4 million users, bringing together GetGlue’s 3.2 million and Viggle’s 1.2 million.
