Turner lines up Hindi channel in MENA

Hindi will carry Cartoon Network shows such as The Amazing World of Gumball

Turner has launched a version of Cartoon Network in the Middle East and North Africa that caters for children from South Asia who live in the region.

Cartoon Network Hindi will be aimed at the “significant number” of children between the ages of four and 14 from the sub-continent in MENA, Turner said.

The pay TV network will become the first Hindi channel aimed at kids in the region.

Turner added that it also means it is the only broadcasting network in MENA to offer kids’ channels in three different languages, including English and Arabic.

Available in Hindi only, the new channel will include Cartoon Network originals such as Ben10, Powerpuff Girls, The Amazing World of Gumball and Adventure Time.

These will sit alongside Indian-produced cartoon series that are also airing on Turner Channels in India.
