TLC in the UK has ordered a local version of the Italian social experiment format Undressed, originally created and produced by Zodiak Media’s Magnolia Italy.
The Discovery-owned pay TV entertainment channel has commissioned Fizz, part of RDF Television, to produce the 20×30′ series and will air it in the UK and Ireland this summer
The dating format sees two strangers undress each other and climb into bed, where they are then asked probing questions and set tasks designed to rapidly foster relationships.
When the time is up, the couples must decide whether to stay in bed and continue the date or leave the room.
The Italian format of the same name airs on Discovery Networks’ Nove in Italy and is distributed by Zodiak Rights.
Clare Laycock, VP, head of channels at TLC and Investigation Discovery, described it as a “brave and beautiful” format that explores whether it is possible to fall in love with a complete stranger.
“Behind the provocative headline, at its heart are funny, adorable and sometimes awkward connections,” Laycock added.
