Sundance London set to go ahead

The Sundance Institute has unveiled details about the launch of the UK version of its documentary festival after founder Robert Redford first told C21 of the plan last year.

Sundance London will take place next year at The O2 – the venue Redford in October disclosed to C21 was top of his list. A deal has now been struck with its owner AEG Europe and the four-day event will go ahead April 26-29.

“It is our mutual goal to bring to the UK, the very best in current American independent cinema, to introduce the artists responsible for it, and in essence help build a picture of our country that is broadly reflective of the diversity of voices not always seen in our cultural exports,” said Redford in a statement.
