Starz to show All Governments Lie

Starz in the US has joined broadcasters in Germany, Finland and Japan in acquiring the feature documentary All Governments Lie.

The cablenet will air the documentary, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September last year, following a deal with distributor Films Transit.

Arte in Germany, YLE in Finland and NHK in Japan are among the other international broadcasters to have acquired the doc, which features Carl Bernstein, Noam Chomsky and Michael Moore.

Produced by Toronto-based White Pine Pictures, it follows investigative journalists Amy Goodman, Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill, Matt Taibbi and others as they expose government and corporate deception. It is directed by Vancouver-based journalist and filmmaker Fred Peabody.

“All Governments Lie is a timely documentary for audiences who are increasingly seeking alternatives to news media owned by large corporations,” said the producers.
