Stan takes Turner kids’ shows

Australian subscription VoD (SVoD) service Stan has added a slew of kids’ programming to its slate after agreeing a deal with Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific.

It will see Stan, which is jointly owned by Nine Entertainment and Fairfax Media, make shows including Adventure Time and Regular Show available on its fledgling service.

Stan will also carry Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Omniverse and three Ben 10 special features, while the service has also got a three-month SVoD exclusive window on The Powerpuff Girls.

Further shows from Cartoon Network will be made available from April 1, including Generator Rex, Cow and Chicken and Ed, Edd, n Eddy.

All titles will be included in Stan’s A$10 (US$7.66) monthly fee, and available via the service’s Kids Zone, designed to enable controlled viewing. Stan recently moved into original production after ordering two local dramas.

It’s the latest deal secured in the increasingly competitive Australian VoD space, with Stan competing for eyeballs against Presto, Quickflix and the soon-to-launch Netflix.
