Spike content lands on Foxtel

MIPCOM: Australian pay TV broadcaster Foxtel has picked up multiple programmes that originally aired in the US on Viacom-owned cablenet Spike.

The multi-series deal with distributor Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) includes titles such as Gym Rescue (3×60′), Hungry Investors (11×60′), Chainsaw Gang (9×30′) and two seasons of Catch a Contractor (11×30′, 10×60′).

All of the above series will air on Foxtel’s male-skewing general entertainment and reality channel A&E.

Foxtel has also acquired the MTV drama Finding Carter, which will debut on its entertainment channel Fox8.

In related news, broadcasters from across Latin America have acquired some of Nickelodeon’s live action programming from the distribution arm of parent company Viacom.

Both Venezuela’s Venevision and Costa Rica’s Canal 7 have acquired episodes of Every Witch Way and Big Time Rush from VIMN.

Elsewhere, Haunted Hathaways has been taken by Telenica in Nicaragua, Televisa in Mexico, Canal 7 in Costa Rica and TV Hondurena in Honduras.
