S4C brings in factual commissioner

Hinterland

S4C’s Welsh-language crime drama Hinterland

Welsh-language broadcaster S4C has appointed Llinos Wynne to the role of content commissioner for factual programmes.

Wynne, who will begin at S4C shortly, will divide her time between the Hinterland broadcaster’s headquarters in Cardiff and its office in Caernarfon.

She replaces Llion Iwan, who was recently appointed as the channel’s head of content distribution.

During her career, Wynne has worked for various production companies across Wales and the UK. Before going freelance, she worked for UK pubcaster the BBC for more than 20 years.

Last month, S4C chief Ian Jones announced he was stepping down from his post at the channel after six years.

Despite budget cuts and financial pressures through a period of austerity in the UK, S4C has made its name on the world stage by coproducing Welsh-language crime drama Hinterland, which has sold internationally.
