Russian nets get Gormiti

Russian broadcasters have acquired Marathon Media-produced animated kids series Gormiti (65×30′).

Commercial networks TV3 and 2×2 have picked up the show via a deal with distributor Zodiak Rights. The announcement came from brand creator Giochi Preziosi and Swedish rights management company Plus Licens.

TV3 will premiere the boys-skewed series on October 27 in a Tuesday morning slot, with 2×2 following suit with its own launch on November 8.

Gormiti is described as a blend of “magic, epic legend ad comedy” and comes in three parts – Gormiti: Lords of Nature Return!, Gormiti: The Supreme Eclipse Era and Gormiti: The Neoragnic Evolution.

The series began life as toy figurines and launched on TV in 2008 via Italy’s Mediaset.
