Plimsoll embraces Bearhug TV

UK prodco Plimsoll Productions has acquired Cardiff-based Bearhug TV, whose founder has been appointed as creative director of Plimsoll’s fledgling Welsh unit.

Jobim Sampson

Jobim Sampson, who set up Bearhug TV in 2014, has a history with Plimsoll, having served as executive producer on its recent series Bringing Home Baby for BBC Wales.

Prior to launching his own company, Sampson ran Channel 4 factual programme Time Team from Cardiff. As creative director of Plimsoll Wales, he will report to James Smith, head of Plimsoll Wales, in Cardiff.

In his new role, Sampson will create, develop and produce unscripted programming with a focus on specialist factual series in the UK. He has more than two decades of television experience, having produced series such as Earth’s Natural Wonders (BBC1) and City in the Sky (BBC2).
