Netflix backs Bloodline for second run

Netflix has ordered a second season of Bloodline, its original drama from the creators of legal thriller Damages that made its debut on the streaming service less than two weeks ago.

Bloodline: Renewed within two weeks

Created by Todd Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman, the show explores how the lives of four family members change when another sibling returns to their hometown. The show has been well received by critics.

The streaming service has commissioned Sony Pictures Television to make another 13 episodes of the show, which is set in the Florida Keys and stars Kyle Chandler and Sissy Spacek.

The second season is expected to arrive on the SVoD service next year. The renewal means Netflix has commissioned second seasons of all of its original dramas, which include House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Marco Polo.
