MTV Int’l preps public karaoke format

MTV International has greenlit a music-themed gameshow that challenges contestants with performing karaoke in public places.

Crash Karaoke (10×30′) will see presenters Hannah Rad and Dylan Landon travel to unassuming locations and attempting to charm two volunteers into a head-to-head karaoke showdown for a cash prize.

The series will begin filming in mid-August, with an international roll-out beginning later this year.

The executive producers are Adam Dolgins, Brian Flanagan, Anthony Amoia, Mike Amoia, and Sean Lee of Switchblade Entertainment, and Bruce Gillmer, Jennifer Demme Harris and Adriana Cornejo for MTV International.

“Crash Karaoke is an innovative twist on the traditional gameshow that’s anchored in music and embodies MTV’s bold, unpredictable personality,” said Bruce Gillmer, head of music and music talent, global entertainment group, Viacom.
