LoveFilm takes UK drama premiere

MIPCOM: Amazon-owned OTT service LoveFilm has sealed UK premiere rights to Tandem Communications and Bernero Productions’ new crime drama Crossing Lines.

The entire drama will be available for UK viewers to binge-view from October 25, ahead of its availability to broadcasters, marking LoveFilm’s third such scoop for the UK, following Vikings and Copper.

A second season of Crossing Lines, which premiered on NBC in the US in June, is now in production and has been picked-up for by LoveFilm as part of the deal.

Randall Broman, VP of sales at Tandem Communications, said the deal with LoveFilm was an easy one. “We are breaking new ground for audiences who are using the internet more often than ever to find their fill of quality film or TV,” he said.

In a separate move, LoveFilm Gemany has signed its second streaming deal of the year with Germany’s Tele München Gruppe. The agreement gives viewers exclusive access to movie titles from German indie label Concorde Filmverleih, including Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike, Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, The Iron Lady, Marvel Comics Iron Man 3, Warm Bodies and Twilight.
