Kidobi talks to the animals

The deal gives the preschool-targeted aggregator digital and VoD rights to Amita of the Jungle (26×7′), which launched on Italy’s Rai Tre in 2009. The show follows a modern-day Mowgli-like character living in a magical world where humans and animals can talk to and understand each other.

The toon was produced by Turin’s Làstrego & Testa Multimedia and Blue Dolphin, who operate from Nanjing in China, alongside Rai Fiction, the production arm of the Italian pubcaster.

Eric Sorenson, director of research and content at Kidobi, told C21: “There’s some great kids’ content online, and we’re empowering parents with the tools to be able to find it at the right time.”

Kidobi’s distribution structure allows parents to create their own video playlists by imputing data about their child’s educational needs, which the platform then uses to aggregate relevant acquired third-party content.

Production has recently finished Amita of the Jungle’s second season (26×7′), which will air on Rai YoYo.
