Int’l nets spin Twirlywoos

Channels from around the world have acquired Twirlywoos, the preschool show from CBeebies in the UK, Canada’s DHX Media and the creator of Teletubbies.

Lagardère in France has picked up the 50×11′ series for its Gulli and Tiji channels, while the other channels to have acquired the show are YLE in Finland, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway and Hop! in Israel.

The show, which follows four small bird-like characters who are always looking to learn something new about the world, is also due to begin airing in Canada this fall.

It was devised and executive produced by Ragdoll Productions’ Anne Wood (Teletubbies), alongside lead creative and writer Steve Roberts and producer Chris Wood.

It combines stop-frame animation and live-action sequences set in the real world and is distributed internationally by DHX.
