Hulu, NBCU strike streaming deal

30 Rock will screen on Hulu

US streamer Hulu has agreed a distribution deal with one of its parent companies NBCUniversal for hundreds of episodes of content, including sitcom 30 Rock.

The deal for the package of programming from NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution follows the two companies’ recent agreement covering the US streaming rights to episodes of Will & Grace.

Hulu will now also be the exclusive SVoD home to all episodes 30 Rock in the US from October 1, while it will also debut Paul Reiser’s forthcoming scripted series There’s Johnny. The period comedy is set in the world of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, circa 1972, and stars Tony Danza.

Other series covered by the agreement include 13 seasons of UK reality TV hit Made in Chelsea, which airs in the UK on E4, and the first 10 seasons of Syfy reality show Face Off. Meanwhile, the first six seasons of drama series Parenthood will be made available on Hulu in early 2018.

Hulu is a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company, 21st Century Fox, NBCUniversal parent Comcast and Time Warner.
