Hopster experiments with science

Educational toon Clever Brenda

Preschool SVoD platform Hopster has commissioned a show to get young girls and boys engaged in science-related subjects.

Clever Brenda (5×2′) follows a smart girl as she explains to children basic concepts, such as how recycling and the water cycle works and how our bodies function.

Hopster commissioned London-based illustration agency Rude to create the show as part of its new educational area focused on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.

Miki Chojnacka, Hopster’s chief creative and content officer, said: “We believe that it’s never too early to start kids’ education in STEM subjects and having a little girl I know how hard it is to find a great programme that encourages girls to get into science.”

It marks one of the first original commissions from UK-based Hopster, which was founded in 2013 and has since expanded into more than 100 countries, including the US.

Last year the firm received investment from Sony Pictures Television Networks in return for a minority stake in the company.
