History subtracts Six

Six was the highest rated new cable drama for much of last year

US cablenet History has cancelled the military drama Six, produced by A+E Studios and the TV arm of The Weinstein Company, after two seasons.

Created by William Broyles (Flags of Our Fathers) and his son David, Six follows members of SEAL Team Six on a mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan, but the operation goes awry.

The show was inspired by the real missions of SEAL Team Six, the US special forces unit best known for killing Osama Bin Laden.

It had been sold by A+E Studios to international broadcasters such as Artes in Spain, Starz Play in the Middle East and RTL2 in Germany, while it was also picked up by Amazon for its Prime SVoD service in certain territories.
