Fox in the US has added six new series to its 2016/17 schedule, including two comedies and a remake of movie franchise Lethal Weapon.

Time travel comedy Making History is from Phil Lord and Chris Miller, while single-camera show The Mick is about a woman’s attempts to raise her sister’s children.

On the drama front, Pitch follows the exploits of a young female pitcher who plays professional baseball, with the show being produced in partnership with the US’s Major League.

The Exorcist is from Jeremy Slater and is based on William Blatty’s novel about possession, while APB, which has Matt Nix attached as show runner, follows a billionaire’s attempts to reform the police.

Lethal Weapon, based on the films starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, revisits the storyline of a former Navy Seal who works with an LAPD cop and is being produced by Warner Bros Television. The other five are being produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

Fox has already picked up music drama Star, produced by 20th Century Fox, from its pilot slate and 24: Legacy, a reboot of popular action series 24 but without lead character Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland.
