Four new shows for CBS Studios

LA SCREENINGS: CBS Studios International has a new sitcom and three new dramas on its slate, following the US broadcast Upfronts last week.

Comedy

9JKL CBS Television Studios, Kapital Entertainment. This multi-camera comedy is about a man who lives in an apartment, with his parents and his brother’s family as neighbours. CBS has given it the Monday 20.30 berth from October, with The Big Bang Theory as its lead-in. Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains) stars.

Drama

SEAL TeamCBS Television Studios, Timberman-Beverly Productions. About an elite team of Navy SEALs as they prepare and execute a series of high stake missions. It airs Wednesdays at 21.00 from this fall. David Boreanaz (Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) stars.

Valor CBS Television Studios, Warner Bros Television. A US army drama about an elite group of helicopter pilots trained to perform secretive international and domestic missions. The CW has given the show the coveted Monday 21.00 slot leading out of superhero hit Supergirl. Valor stars Christina Ochoa and Matt Barr.

Wisdom of the Crowd CBS Television Studios, Keshet Studios, Universal Television. Based on the eponymous format from Israel’s Keshet Studios, the show follows a tech innovator (Entourage’s Jeremy Piven) who creates a crowd-sourcing hub to solve his daughter’s murder. CBS has given the show the Sunday 20.00 slot from this fall. Richard T Jones (Criminal Minds) co-stars.

CBS Studios International’s LA Screenings slate also includes two other CBS dramas. Airing later this year is Instinct, which stars Alan Cumming as a former CIA operative who is lured back to his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer. It is based on an upcoming James Patterson novel.

Salvation, meanwhile, is a summer drama about a tech team that discovers an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth. It is being produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout.
