Former NBCU chief tipped for CNN

The former president and CEO of NBCUniversal (NBCU), Jeff Zucker, is in line to be the next head of Time Warner-owned global news broadcaster CNN, according to a report.

Zucker, who left his post at NBC in early 2011 after the completion of its merger with US cable giant Comcast, will be announced as the replacement for departing CNN president Jim Walton soon, the New York Times claims.

Since leaving NBCU, Zucker has had exec production duties on former CBS newscaster Katie Couric’s daytime talk show Katie, which airs on ABC.
