Endemol Shine Studios boss steps down

Sharon Hall, president of the scripted division at Endemol Shine North America (ESNA), has stepped down from her role.

The Endemol Shine Studios boss, who joined the firm at the beginning of 2016, is moving into a producer role at the studio.

The news comes soon after ESNA appointed Sharon Levy, the former exec VP of original series at Viacom-owned US network Spike, to oversee its scripted and unscripted TV output.

Levy left Spike earlier this year following Viacom’s plans to rebrand Spike as Paramount Network.

A spokeswoman for Endemol Shine has confirmed to C21 that Levy is expected to assemble her own scripted team and will work with Hall during the transition period.

Endemol Shine Studios has been behind shows such as AMC’s Hell on Wheels, DirecTV’s Kingdom and Showtime’s I’m Dying Up Here.

Hall launched Alcon’s TV division in 2012 and prior to that headed drama development at Sony Pictures TV, where she worked on series such as Masters of Sex, Breaking Bad, Justified and Damages.
