Disney launches on IPTV in Thailand

Walt Disney Television International and IPTV provider True Digital Entertainment have linked up to make the Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney available over the internet in Thailand.

Starting this month, Disney Channel will be available on Channel 7 and Playhouse Disney will be available on Channel 8, on True IPTV.

True is the second IPTV platform to feature the Disney channels in Asia after Hong Kong’s Now Broadband TV.

Nicky Parkinson, senior VP and MD of Walt Disney Television International (Asia Pacific), said: “IPTV is anticipated to be a major entertainment platform in Thailand and we are extremely excited to work with True, an innovative industry player providing the first IPTV here, to embrace this fast-growing opportunity and bring our two branded channels to Thai kids and families.”

The service will cost viewers THB120 (US$3) for a monthly subscription for the Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney Channel.
