The Dutch channel owned by John De Mol’s Talpa Network is preparing to launch a new dancing and singing format.

SBS6 is lining up DanceSing, which has been developed and produced in-house by Talpa and will be fronted by LA-based music executive and producer Nadir Khayat (aka RedOne), who has worked with stars such as Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

The show will launch in 2019 and will see contestants training in boot camps with experts before competing against each other in a studio.

Each will then have to impress with their dancing and singing in order to win the competition, securing a deal with Khayat in the process.

John De Mol’s Talpa Holding completed its acquisition of Dutch commercial broadcaster SBS for €237m (US$273m) in 2017 after agreeing a deal with Finland’s Sanoma.

De Mol then brought his various media assets, including Talpa Holding and radio stations, under one umbrella company called Talpa Network.

UK broadcaster ITV had previously paid £355m (US$531.7m) in 2015 to acquire Talpa Media, the Dutch production company behind formats including The Voice, Utopia and I Love My Country.
