The 117×7’ series, written by Nathan Heinze, Aaron Barnett and Richard Dinnick, launched earlier this year on Disney’s Indian children’s channel Hungama.

It revolves around a series of chases involving a cunning hungry fox who is constantly outwitted by three chicks.

The latest deals for the series include Spain’s Imira Entertainment picking up rights for Latin America, US Hispanic territories and Africa excluding Sub-Sahara; and Singapore’s Hub Media Group taking rights in Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.

Additionally, Hong Kong’s DE Media Group has acquired the rights for China and Taiwan; Spain’s Luk Internacional for France, Italy, Spain, Ireland and the UK; and Kelen Content for North America.

Germany’s Your Family Entertainment is already a distribution and coproduction partner for Europe, excluding the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Ireland, and for MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Anish Mehta, CEO of Cosmos-Maya, said the series’ USP was its classic appeal. “The hand-drawn feel, the retro music and the slapstick chases all give Eena Meena Deeka such a distinct yet universal appeal, and thus we have been able to break into so many territories within six months of the launch of the show.”

Headquartered in Singapore, parent company Cosmos Entertainment recently acquired a controlling stake in Mumbai-based Maya Digital Studios.

The group produces animated content for a range of broadcasters and third-party production companies. Cosmos-Maya’s current projects also include Motu Patlu for Nickelodeon, Vir the Robot Boy for Disney Hungama and Kisna for Discovery Kids.
