The deal between Canal 13 subsidiary Canal 13 Sudmedia and Comarex gives the latter worldwide distribution rights to the broadcaster’s drama portfolio across finished series and formats.

For Canal 13, the agreement stands to open up new markets in Asia and Europe. The company’s drama inventory includes successful shows such as Machos, Papi Ricky, Brujas, Primera Dama, Las Vegas, Los 80, Príncipes de Barrio and its latest series Veinteañero a los 40.

Comarex has also been looking to grow its partnerships and presence in Asia with scripted content and formats.

The company currently distributes around 42,000 hours annually across a range of genres to more than 110 countries. It is the exclusive distributor for Mexico’s Azteca worldwide. In Latin America and Hispanic USA it represents Studio 100 Media, MTV Networks, Mediaset Distribution and Dicon Media; as well as HBOLA in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
