Cisneros picks from within for studio

Pérez will report to Juan Carlos Sosa, exec VP of operations of Cisneros Studios

The US-based production arm of Cisneros Media has named a TV veteran as an exec producer.

Vladimir Pérez is currently VP of content development at Cisneros Media but will now assume the role of executive producer at Cisneros Studios, which specialises in Hispanic programming for the US market.

He reports directly to Juan Carlos Sosa, exec VP of operations of Cisneros Studios, who said the appointment was part of a revamp for the production team following his arrival in 2013 to replace Peter Tinoco.

Pérez has worked in the TV industry for more than three decades on drama and variety shows, as well as teen series, sitcoms, gameshows and reality programmes. He has been behind programming including Club de los Tigritos and juvenile series De sola a sol, as well as musical show Somos tú y yo.

In June, Cisneros bolstered its team with the appointment of Hugo Devana from Latino producer Only Productions. Founded in 2004, Cisneros Studios is part of Miami-based Cisneros Media, owner of Venezuelan broadcaster Venevision.
