CBS, Dish resolve carriage dispute

CBS and satellite TV company Dish Network in the US have reached an agreement on a new carriage deal, ending a three-day blackout of the network’s channels across 26 states.

CBS announced yesterday that it had reached a multi-year agreement with Dish for the latter to carry its local stations and cable channels such as Pop and Smithsonian Channel. Financial details were not disclosed.

The news comes after the two companies were locked in a dispute about distribution fees for months, with each side blaming the other for the blackout over the beginning of the Thanksgiving Holiday in the US.
