Canal+ prescribes medical drama

Hippocrate is based on the feature film Hippocrates: Diary of a French Doctor

French pay TV operator Canal+ has greenlit a contemporary medical drama inspired by the 2014 feature film Hippocrates: Diary of a French Doctor.

Hippocrate (8×52′), which begins shooting next week in and near Paris until April 30 next year, was created by Thomas Lilti, the doctor-turned-filmmaker behind the film, in collaboration with Anaïs Carpita, Claude Le Pape and Julien Lilti.

It will be produced by Agnès Vallée and Emmanuel Barraux for 31 Juin Filmsm with a cast including Louise Bourgoin, Karim Leklou, Anne Consigny and Éric Caravaca.

Set in a public hospital on the outskirts of a big city during a quarantine, it follows three inexperienced interns and a forensic pathologist as they manage the hospital’s patients on their own.
