Breakthrough names production boss

Toronto-based producer and distributor Breakthrough Entertainment has added to its ranks with the appointment of a head of production.

Pilar Segura joins Breakthrough after recently working with the firm on documentary series Hollywood Homicide Uncovered, children’s show Zerby Derby, cooking programme David Rocco’s Amalfi Getaway and reality-science series Think Big.

From 1999 to 2004, Pilar was partner and VP of production at Screenlife Productions. She has worked on lifestyle and reality television, documentaries and scripted programmes that have aired on CBC, CTV, History, HGTV, Food Network, TVO, the BBC, A&E and Discovery.

Pilar currently teaches film and television production to postgraduate students at Centennial College in Toronto.
