BBC2 okays Polizzi Xmas special

BBC2 has commissioned UK indie Twofour to produce a Christmas special from its Alex Polizzi: The Fixer series.

Alex Polizzi’s Perfect Christmas (working title) will see the third-generation hotelier and successful businesswoman take viewers behind the scenes at some of the UK’s most iconic institutions as they gear up for Christmas.

The one-hour special was commissioned by BBC2 controller Janice Hadlow and head of commissioning for factual features and formats, Alison Kirkham. The show will be exec produced by Melanie Leach and Dan Adamson for Twofour and by Tom Edwards, commissioning editor of knowledge, for the BBC.

The commission follows the October merger of Twofour and Boom Pictures, the fledgling UK indie set up last year by former BBC/TalkbackThames exec Lorraine Heggessey.
