The new version of The Great Australian Bake Off will air on Foxtel’s Lifestyle Food channel, with culinary icon Maggie Beer and acclaimed chef Matt Moran recruited as hosts.

It will be produced by BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) Australia & New Zealand and FremantleMedia Australia (FMA), as part of the pair’s multi-year partnership to produce general entertainment formats together.

FMA also produces BBCWW formats Dancing with the Stars and Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook Melbourne, for Seven and SBS respectively.

BBCWW has previously licensed The Great Bake Off format, owned by original UK producer Sky’s Love Productions, to broadcasters including DR in Denmark, M6 in France, TV3 in Norway and 1+1 in Ukraine.

The series first aired in the UK on BBC2, before being moved to the UK pubcaster’s flagship channel BBC1 as a result of its high ratings.
