Asian nets add Edison, Stan Lee toons

Broadcasters in Asia have acquired series including Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 from US children’s content firm Genius Brands International (GBI).

Mediacorp in Singapore has taken broadcast rights to the comedy adventure series inspired by the legendary inventor (26×30′) and the 90-minute animated superhero feature from comic book heavyweight Lee.

Indonesia’s Spacetoon, meanwhile, has licensed Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club (26×30′) as well as the two aforementioned GBI toons.

“The appeal of our content continues to prove itself in virtually every market around the globe, resonating with young viewers and assuring parents feel comfortable about the entertainment choices they are making for their kids,” said GBI’s senior VP of global sales, Andrew Berman.
