Amazon stocks up on Spanish drama

Amazon has acquired more than 30 existing and forthcoming series produced by major Spanish networks RTVE, Mediaset and Atresmedia.

The deals between Amazon Prime Video and the distribution arms of the three Spanish broadcasters covers 34 series in total that will be available on the international streaming service.

It includes programming such as Estoy Vivo from RTVE, El Accidente from Mediaset and Vis a Vis from Atresmedia.

Christoph Schneider, director of content acquisitions at Amazon Prime Video, said that the agreements will mean the service offers “the best of Spanish television” to its customers.

Other series included in the deal include Presunto Culpable and Matadero from Atresmedia, La Verdad from Mediaset and Queens from RTVE.
