A+E, Sky fan Blaze in Italy

A+E Networks has partnered with Sky to add fledgling channel Blaze to its line-up in Italy, having launched the network in the UK last year.

Unlike in the UK, where the channel is free-to-air, Blaze will play on pay TV network Sky Italia in Italy, marking the second launch of the factual entertainment channel.

It will air US factual content produced by A+E Networks, ranging from reality shows to docuseries, including titles such as Ax Men, Power & Ice, Mountain Men, Alone, Barter Kings, Alaska Off-Road Warriors, Leepu & Pitbull, Storage Wars, Nightwatch and Down East Dickering.

It will also air lifestyle shows such as Fit to Fat to Fit and Flipping Vegas, as well as food series including The Wahlburgers and Epic Meal Empire.

The channel, which A+E says targets an “upscale, primarily male” viewer, joins fellow A+E networks History and Crime & Investigation on Sky in Italy.

“By offering uniquely innovative, original, and quality content, Blaze will be the place for those viewers looking for remarkable, extraordinary characters and stories,” said Dean Possenniskie, general manager for EMEA at A+E Networks.
