Warner Bros calls in Quinn for DC streamer

Margot Robbie plays Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad movie

Warner Bros’ forthcoming DC Entertainment-branded streamer has ordered its third show, an animated comedy aimed at adults based on comic book character Harley Quinn.

The show, based on the DC Comics character who features in the movie Suicide Squad, has been take straight to series with an order for 26×30′ episiodes.

The show is from Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey (Powerless), with Warner Bros Animation producing. It will follow Quinn’s relationship with the Joker and also features other characters from the DC Comics universe, including Poison Ivy.

Warner Bros’ Digital Networks Group unveiled plans for its DC Entertainment streamer earlier this year. The service will launch in 2018 featuring exclusive series based on DC’s comic book characters.

The other shows on the slate are live-action series Titans, from Warner Bros Television and DC Entertainment, while Warner Bros Animation is working on Young Justice: Outsiders.
