Warner Bros preps DC streamer

Warner Bros Digital Networks Group is developing a DC Entertainment-branded streaming service that will feature exclusive series based on DC’s comic book characters.

Warner Bros Television and DC Entertainment have partnered on a new live-action series, Titans, while Warner Bros Animation is working on Young Justice: Outsiders.

Both series are in the early stages of production and will be available on the direct-to-consumer digital service when it launches next year.

Written by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti, Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe.

Goldsman, Johns, Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are executive producers of the series, which comes from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros Television.

Young Justice: Outsiders, meanwhile, is a spin-off to the Cartoon Network series Young Justice and follows the teenage superheroes of the DC Universe as they take on meta-human trafficking.
