Viacom, Endemol Shine land Lip Sync Portugal

Lip Sync Battle Thailand has been renewed for a second season

Viacom International Studios and Endemol Shine Iberia have partnered to take Lip Sync Battle to Portugal.

The 8×90′ Portuguese version of the entertainment format, titled Lip Sync Portugal Playback Total, will air on commercial free-to-air broadcaster SIC later this month.

The format, which originated on US cablenet Spike, sees celebrities mime along to pop and rock hits.

It was first developed and executive produced by Casey Patterson of Casey Patterson Entertainment, Jay Peterson of Matador Content, John Krasinksi, Stephen Merchant and Eight Million Plus Productions.

The latest agreement means Lip Sync Battle has now been adapted in 22 international markets.

These include Thailand, where it has been renewed for second, 13×60′ season by GMM 25. It is produced by Motion Content Group and GMM TV and is set to return in April.
