UKTV slam dunks Euroleague rights

A deal struck between UKTV and Euroleague Basketball means UK viewers will have access to top European basketball for the first time.

UKTV has licensed the Euroleague Basketball quarter finals and the 2006 Final Four in an agreement covering the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

The deal also represents the first live sports broadcast for UKTV, as well as the first live broadband coverage from its new website, www.uktvslam.tv.

The latest agreement means Euroleague games are now available to viewers in 30 European countries and more than 50 worldwide.

The UK signing is also a significant addition for the league, which took over responsibility for managing the audiovisual rights to its sporting events only in the past year.
