Two Rivers names development exec

Fledgling Scottish production company Two Rivers Media has appointed Wall to Wall Media’s head of UK factual development as its director of unscripted development.

Lucy Bacon

Lucy Bacon will take up the role at the recently launched Glasgow-based company on August 19, having been in her current position at Warner Bros Television Production-owned Wall to Wall since 2016.

During her time at Wall to Wall, Bacon has overseen the development of projects including The Twinstitute for BBC2, Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family (BBC1), The 100 Years Younger Experiment (ITV), Nadiya’s Asian Odyssey (BBC1), World’s Most Extraordinary Homes (BBC2) and Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star (BBC3).

She was previously head of development for the development central part of BBC Productions, where she was responsible for forming and pitching returnable formats across all platforms.

Credits include The Hairy Bikers, Chicken and Egg (BBC2); and Who’s the Boss (BBC2). Prior to that, Bacon was head of factual development at Remarkable Television and head of development at Shine TV. She has also held a range of development producer and development exec roles.

Two Rivers was formed by ex-STV MD Alan Clements after he left the Scottish broadcaster last year and is backed by Kew Media, Noble Grossart and the Channel 4 Growth Fund.

Bacon’s appointment marks the third high-profile creative hire that Two Rivers has made since its launch in January, alongside Mirella Breda, head of entertainment, and Mick McAvoy, head of factual.

Bacon will lead a growing development team at Two Rivers that includes Lucy Hazzard, head of factual development. Hazzard and Bacon are supported by development producers Lotte Murphy-Johnson and Sophie Scott.
