Turn Card hires Haelen for development

Turn Card Content, the joint venture from Lucky 8 TV and Undercover Boss production duo Courtney and Audra Smith, has taken on a former Food Network exec as head of development.

Jake Haelen has joined the New York-based company, which launched last year and is one of the prodcos behind Food Network’s Kids BBQ Championship.

As head of development he will be responsible for the company’s slate of lifestyle and primetime family programming for linear networks and digital platforms.

Prior to Turn Card, Haelen was at Food Network and Cooking Channel, overseeing series including Kids Baking Championship, Holiday Baking Championship, Great Food Truck Race, Mystery Diners and Vinny & Ma Eat America.

He has also previously produced series including TLC’s My Crazy Obsession and A&E’s Bad Ink.
