Turkey set for Bake Off

Turkey’s Channel 8 is the latest network to remake cookery format The Great Bake Off, as part of a number of deals for Love Productions’ formats agreed by BBC Worldwide (BBCWW).

A 35×60′ run is being produced by Acunmedya’s Channel 8 to air next month and means the format, from the UK-based prodco, has now been sold into 15 territories.

Love Productions, which was recently acquired by UK satcaster Sky, is also behind factual format Make Bradford British, which has been sold to Dutch network Ned 1, while the My Last Summer format has been sold to RTL in the Netherlands.

Sky Vision is set to become Love Productions’ future distribution partner following the recent buy-out, representing all forthcoming finished programmes and formats globally. Love Productions’ current agreements with other broadcasters and distributors will remain unchanged.

BBCWW, the commercial arm of the BBC, is also prepping the launch of its primetime entertainment format Tumble for Mipcom later this month.

The show sees celebrities being paired with experts to take part in gymnastic challenges and being pushed to their physical limits. It originally aired on BBC1 in the UK and was produced in-house by BBC Entertainment.

Other shows on BBCWW’s format slate include comedy entertainment format Bad Bridesmaid and renovation show Your Home in their Hands.

Scripted formats include: comedy series Moone Boy, which follows a young boy growing up in a chaotic and creative household in the late 1980s; Inside Men, about three employees of a security depot who plan and execute a multimillion pound cash heist; and sci-fi Orphan Black, which airs on BBC America.
