The CW takes to Taskmaster, Fridge Wars

UKTV’s Bafta-nominated Taskmaster

US broadcast network The CW has acquired four unscripted shows to bolster its summer schedule, including UK comedy competition format Taskmaster and Canadian culinary competition series Fridge Wars.

Bafta-nominated comedy Taskmaster is an Avalon production for UKTV, while Fridge Wars is coproduced by The Gurin Company, which also co-created the format, for Canadian broadcaster CBC.

Horror whodunnit competition series Killer Camp, from UK prodco Tuesday’s Child, originally made for UK broadcaster ITV2, is also among The CW’s acquisitions, together with reality series Being Reuben. The latter is produced by Warner Bros International Television Production-owned prodco Ricochet and Krempelwood for Discovery-owned UK net Quest Red.

The CW also recently picked up scripted shows including drama series Coroner, UK sitcom Dead Pixels, psychological thriller Tell Me a Story and thriller series Devils to fill its summer schedule.
