Teletoon drives off a cliff

Teletoon of Canada has greenlit a new primetime family comedy about a family that drives off a cliff and becomes part of a community of misfits that lives at the bottom of the canyon.

Crash Canyon is a 13×30′ animated series that will be produced by Breakthrough Films and Television together with Joel Cohen, the co-executive producer on The Simpsons, and the series’ creators; Phil Lafrance and Jamie Leclaire of Ottawa-based Jam Filled Entertainment.

Teletoon president Len Cochrane said the show was destined for Teletoon at Night, the teen-skewed programme block (fka Teletoon Detour) that fills the 21.00-03.30 hours on Teletoon.

Joan Lambur, Breakthrough’s head of live-action, animation and family programmes, added: “This commission further cements Breakthrough’s presence in the family comedy space.”
