Stan Lee movie travels world

Broadcasters in Denmark, India, Israel and the Philippines have acquired the animated movie Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, which sees superhero creator Lee star in a lead role for the first time.

DR in Denmark, Discovery Channel in India, Zoom in Israel and GMA in the Philippines will air the toon (1×90′), which debuted on The Hub Network in the US and has also been sold to ABC in Australia.

The movie features Lee, co-creator of legendary franchises such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk and X-Men, playing an animated version of himself and teaching a crew of alien prisoners and their jailers, who have crash-landed on Earth, how to work together and use their powers to be superheroes.

It is part of a trilogy of movies produced by Stan Lee Comics, a joint venture among Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment, Archie Comics and producer and distributor Genius Brands International.

The voice cast of Mighty 7 also features Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives), Christian Slater (Breaking In) and Flea, bassist in US rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers.
