ShortsTV names Bergsma EMEA president

Shorts International has appointed a former Chellomedia executive as president of its channel ShortsTV in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Jesse Bergsma will be responsible for ShortTV’s EMEA operations, including affiliate sales, marketing and film acquisitions.

The channel is currently available in the US, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Romania, Slovakia and Serbia.

The company is aiming to roll out ShortsTV, which features live-action, animation and documentary short movies from around the world, elsewhere in Europe.

Bergsma was responsible for all affiliate business activities, including subscriber sales and business-to-business marketing, during his time at Chellomedia Benelux between 2005 and 2013.

“The market for short movies is expanding rapidly. As the only short-movie channel in the world, ShortsTV is in a unique position to work with our European affiliates to bring these movies to their audiences across the continent,” Bergsma said.
