Shaquille O’Neal goes down Back Roads

US production company Back Roads Entertainment has signed an overall copro deal with basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal’s production company Jersey Legends.

Under the new deal, O’Neal and business partner Michael Parris will work alongside Back Roads founder and executive producer Colby Gaines to develop comedy, quiz and family entertainment content for the US and international markets. O’Neal, Parris and Gaines will serve as exec producers on all projects.

O’Neal said: “I’m happy to be teaming up with Back Roads Entertainment. This partnership is big and that’s how I like to do things – big. Get ready for some incredible content.”

Gaines added: “Shaquille O’Neal is a legendary athlete, successful entrepreneur, global personality and cultural icon. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to target his interests, marry them with our stock of game, comedy and family programming, and be the dedicated production house for all things Jersey Legends.”

The copro deal follows recent news of the Back Roads partnership with TV presenter Wendy Williams for a comedy special Wendy Williams and Friends Present: For The Record.
