Candice Carty-Williams is best known as the writer and author of the Sunday Times bestselling novel Queenie, which has been described as 'vital', 'disarmingly honest', and 'boldly political', and has been shortlisted for the Waterstones, Foyles and Goodreads Book of 2019, as well as selected as the Blackwell’s Debut of the Year. Queenie also won Book of the Year at the 2020 British Book Awards. In 2023, Carty-Williams’ first major TV series Champion will air on BBC One and Netflix. The eight-part series is set to be followed by Carty-Williams’ second TV show, an adaptation of her 2019 novel Queenie, which will be available to watch on Channel4 and Disney.
