TALKING SHOP: Pedro Lascurain, veteran acquisitions boss at Mexico’s TV Azteca, discusses how recent regulatory reforms could affect the country’s TV landscape and result in more local productions.

Two new channels are to be introduced in 2015 but the Mexican veteran says he believes Azteca and its main rival Televisa are well placed to keep new entrants at bay.

Lascurain, who has been in the TV industry for more than 35 years, also explains why deals with the likes of Disney and 21st Century Fox are so important to TV Azteca and why Mexican viewers could be set for a bonanza of high-quality shows over the coming years.
